ELWA is a photovoltaic water heating device.
Direct current from photovoltaic modules is transferred directly to the built-in heating element and immediately converted into heat without any loss.
No connection to the power grid is required (pure island operation).
The patented hot water system ensures that hot water is supplied even in bad weather.
In summer, the conventional heating system can be switched off completely. This increases the lifespan of the heating system.
How ELWA works
ELWA uses the direct current from solar modules directly to heat the hot water.
No grid feed-in, no inverter, no connection permits, simple installation.
The patented system covers up to 50% of the hot water needs of a two to four person household.
ELWA replaces thermal solar systems of four to ten square meters with a photovoltaic output of up to 2.4 kWp.
Existing photovoltaic systems can be converted to ELWA to significantly increase self-consumption.
To ensure the hot water supply, ELWA can automatically reheat from the mains. (1.7 kW)
Energy-saving and efficient
ELWA is well suited for hot water tanks of 100 - 500 liters.
And: It works without any mains power, even in the event of a power failure.
It only needs 2 watts to start and therefore starts running even with the slightest sunlight.
Advantages over solar thermal systems
- easy installation: only two DC cables, no pipes
- thus virtually no losses between PV generator and storage
- Low maintenance: no moving parts, no frost protection
- higher yield of PV modules at low ambient temperatures
- No downtime problems, starts automatically again when hot water is needed
- Use 100% solar power yourself
- easiest installation
- Additional heating from the mains included
- No approval required on the network side
- cheaper than conventional water heating
- 2 ELWAs can be used for stratified loading
- lowest maintenance costs
